Isaac's First Music Lesson

Our friends Jamie and Larry, both amazing musicians, graciously brought their instruments over to share with Isaac. He was taken with them both - first, wanting to augment Jamie's flute with his kazoo, surely a sign of great musical creativity. Second, wanting to help Larry with the slide on his trombone, essentially making it a duet. Witness our most musical child.

And so it begins...

Isaac's Uncle Joel and Aunt Ronda spoil him. See the photo below for proof. Also, note that faraway look in Isaac's eye. It's as if he can see the open road ahead and feel the wind whipping through his ever-increasing hair already. Such a boy.

Play Time

In Isaac's mind, every item in the house is fair-game. Spatulas make their way into the bath tub, my mascara now resides in his toy bin, and a roll of wrapping paper is his personal push toy. His latest trick is to make the most of the curtains...
Peek - a -

Boo!

Then he likes to give me this look that seems to say, "Dear God, are we really spending our day playing peek-a-boo?"

Busy, Busy Boy

Isaac seems to be in constant motion these days. His latest fetish is walking on his tip-toes and then trying to stand on one foot. Needless to say, we have a lot of blurry pictures of late, so here is one of him in the bath. It is one of the few places we can get him to sit still.

New Trick

Rest assured that in the Cox/Kahn household, we are focused on teaching Isaac all the essential life skills...

Isaac's Favorite Word

Recently, Isaac has taken to asserting himself regularly and repeatedly. We know we should work on getting him to say yes, but we are too busy entertaining ourselves by getting him to say no. We may be creating a monster.

Grandma Jennifer

On Saturday, Isaac's Grandma Jennifer, Ryan's mom, died from pneumonia-related complications. No woman wanted to be a grandma more than Jennifer - she actually squealed like a little girl when we told her we were having a baby. She loved spending time with Isaac and he enjoyed making her laugh. His time with her was too short and we will make sure that she remains a part of his life through pictures and memories.
